Author Talk With Bob Fulton
On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Bob Fulton presented his book, Burial at Home Plate: An Oddball History of the Pittsburgh Pirates at 6:30PM in the museum. Bob shared a unique look at the Pittsburgh Pirates focusing on unusual moments in the team’s history. Learn about “the pitcher who earned a victory while taking a nap, a rookie who struck out while sitting on the bench, the indoor game that was rained out,” and many other peculiar occurrences involving the Pirates.
Bob resides in Indiana and his love of writing has led him to accomplish authoring five books, and several sport related magazine features. He is a contributing editor for the IUP magazine, a researcher and writer for the IUP Athletic Hall of Fame, and he writes sports and travel articles for The Indiana Gazette.
While working at The Indiana Gazette as a sportswriter for many years Bob’s talents helped him to earn numerous awards. These include: the Pennsylvania Associative Press Managing Editors Award, Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Keystone Award, and the Golden Quill Award
