Fundraising Update - September 2024

Mary Ann Wagner

The Program Committee has been working hard to develop some exciting activities for the Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, and the fundraising committee was happy to participate. We had a table positioned outside the Clark House with some items from the Society’s gift shop. Our gift shop is full of teas for brewing, books about Indiana County history, maps, and more. We also have wooden swords for children. We even have some new items available for purchase include coffee mugs and shot glasses.

September 14 was our fall tea, which sold out early. Mary Jo Bowes and David Tabish attempted all month to sharpen their memories for “A Mix of Memories”. If you missed this event, another is on its way in November; get your tickets early as they do sell out quickly.

Celebrate your photogenic talents and help the HGSIC. The “My Indiana County” photo contest will start in January. Fall is a beautiful time of the year in Indiana County and would be the perfect time to start taking pictures. Remember it is photos of Indiana County only. The Northern Appalachian Folk Fest might provide you with some unique and interesting photo opportunities.

Did you know that there was a Train Robbery in Indiana County? If you purchased the society's calendar for 2024, you would.
